Week 1

Tue: no required reading.

Thu: Read §§1-64 (pp. 35-103) of Bolzano's 'Logic of Science'.

Week 2

Tue: Read Frege's 'The Thought'.

Thu: Read Frege's 'Sense and Reference'.

Week 3

Tue: Read Russell's 'On Denoting'.

Thu: Read Russell's 'On The Nature of Truth' (note: we'll mainly focus on Part III of the Essay, from p. 44 onwards.)

Week 4

Tue/Thu: Read Wittgenstein's 'Tractatus'.

Week 5

Tue: Read Carnap's 'The Logical Structure of the World' (Part I sections 1-9, Part II sections 10-16, Part III section 57, Part V sections 179-180.) 
Thu: Read Carnap's  'The Elimination of Metaphysics Through Logical Analysis of Language’. (Colin, Samuel)

Week 6

Tue: Read Carnap's 'The Unity of Science’. (Read it all, but focus on section 6, i.e., pp  76-93.) (Jim)
Thu: Read Ayer's  'Language Truth and Logic'. (Focus on Introduction and Chapter IV.) (Sanya, Clay)

Week 7

Tue: Read Quine's  ‘On What there Is’. (Xuan)
Thu: Read Carnap's ‘Empiricism, Semantics and Ontology’. (Joel)

Tue: Read Quine's ‘Two Dogmas of Empiricism’. (Aidan)
Thu: Read Kripke's ‘Naming and Necessity’. (Justin, Scout)

Week 9

Tue: Read Kripke's  ‘Naming and Necessity’. (Andy)
